Mark is a commercial director, photographer and cinematographer living in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
In photography, he works primarily in Fashion+Beauty, Food, and Portraiture. You can see his images in Ulta Beauty and Sephora on endcaps most recently for Curlsmith products. As a food photographer, he shot Jenny Craig’s entire catalog for packaging, print and web. Though obviously very different areas of specialty, they share one noteworthy similarity – they require years of experience to learn the ins-and-outs of the craft. he first learned hair and retouching working with CoverGirl… and never stopped learning. And food, well, let’s just say food is a diva.
His favorite tool for motion is Red Raptor VV with his extensive collection of Leica lenses. His tools for digital stills are Canon R5ii and Hasselblad 907x, for film are Leica M3, Hasselblad 503c and Linhof 4×5.
As a commercial director, he is the visual half of a team with Bruce Somers, Jr. at Sincbox. They have created spots for clients that include Maxwell House, Jenny Craig, Weber Grills, GameFly, Warner Bros., Hoover, Hamilton Beach, DIRECTV, Visa, Procter & Gamble, Orby TV and many more.
He has also directed music videos for Danielle Barbe, Semi Precious Weapons and Miss Derringer as well as spoken-word artist Rich Ferguson and performance video directing credits include: Shakira, Phoenix, Silversun Pickups, Weezer, Katy Perry, Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sean Kingston, Norah Jones, Train, Luke Bryan, Brandon Flowers, Sara Bareilles and many others.
His most recent feature film is the documentary American Tap about the evolution and social history of tap dancing. After premiering at Lincoln Center in New York, American Tap was immediately picked up for international distribution. It then went on to win the Audience Award at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. It continues to sell throughout the world as the definitive documentary film about tap dance.
He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Stage Directors and Choreographers society, the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and the Actors Studio Directors Unit.
